Simplicity = Calm Compliance

This weeks blog is also available in VIDEO format….I know, how exciting!

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about simplifying. Stemming mainly from reminding myself to keep things as simple as possible. “Things” being….well, everything. From food to my running and training; to creative ideas and ways to coordinate my time.

I think there’s a lot to be said for keeping things simple. Simplicity keeps us happier and sane. I also believe that keeping things simple, especially when considering our health and wellbeing, can be the difference to sticking with it and just not bothering. If there are too many variables, rules and exceptions that’s when we start to feel overwhelmed, stressed and…. do nothing. We don’t even try to develop better habits and routines to support our health.

Simplicity means….not getting bogged down in the technical stuff, the numbers and the rules. It means less fiddly (often unnecessary) steps to actually get tasks done. It means, having less choice so that you can actually make a bloody choice. It means making do with what you have rather than buying more things. It means clear, direct communication with everyone. It means ignoring hype and fads. It means less packaged food, more fresh food. It means being organised and able to let go of the things that don’t actually serve you. It means avoiding drama. It means sitting on the veranda by yourself with a cup of tea listening and to the birds; and loving every freakin’ minute of it.

I’ve always felt that being or feeling “healthy” really is not difficult or complicated. Is it..??!!!

BUT, what I’ve realised is that –  I’m in it, I’ve trained in it, I study it, I work it, I’m freakishly interested in it, I talk about it day-in day-out, I research it, I want to know ALL the nitty-gritty and that makes me really, really happy.

Not everyone is like that. Thank-god….how boring, not to mention I’d be out of a job!

Obviously this had me thinking…about how exactly to make it more simple for everyone out there? How to make it less overwhelming? How to reach the people that desperately want to make solid changes to their health and wellbeing but are stuck because of ALL THE OPINIONS, CHOICES, PROGRAMS, DIETS….blah blah blah…. You know what I mean.

I would like to introduce you to the SpunkyGuts 7-Day Health & Mindset Booster. I wanted something that is a simple starting point for anyone and everyone.  I’ve described it as express coaching, as I want it to feel like we’re sitting down doing a one-on-one coaching session where I cover the bare basics for you. These are the principles that I always return to when things go a bit off track with my own health. It’s nothing complicated, it’s definitely not a diet, it’s ideas and information that will always be correct regardless of the trend of the moment.

So, how does it actually work? You receive an e-mail each day that looks into the initial steps to creating a more healthful lifestyle. I cover topics such as food and nutrition, exercise, goals setting, mindset and motivation, happiness, common buzz words and if they actually mean anything, and finally how to find balance with all of this.

If you would like you can read some more about it HERE
